Provide an understanding of the principles of food safety. Demonstrates how to apply this knowledge to control hazards and prevent food poisoning.
The course is approximately of 5 hours duration which is followed by a thirty question multi choice examination paper.
The examination duration is 1 hour.
Candidates must achieve 20 correct answers to be awarded the certificate.
“Open” course ares held on a fairly regular basis, these are often held at the companies own training facilities near Junc. 27 / M5 or in central Taunton.

Candidates who may encounter difficulties in meeting the normal examination criteria may apply for special arrangements, for example an oral examination. The requirement for such special arrangements must be mentioned at the time of application

RSPH Level 2 Food Safety in Manufacturing
The individual course fee for Level 2 Food Safety Certificate is £44. The cost includes the examination and certificate fee which is payable to RSPH also included is the Level 2 handbook which compliments the course.

Although based in the South West courses can be arranged in most areas of the country either in house or at the clients premises or at a local off site venue dependent on numbers.
Progression would normally be to the RSPH Level 3 Supervising Food Safety Qualification. Level 3 certification relates to management or supervisory staff having a responsbility for food handlers
